Going Over the Edge for Special Olympics
Supporting nonprofits in our communities is easy for Dembo Jones; it’s an important part of our civic involvement. Sometimes, though, the way we do it isn’t quite so easy. On September 17, Dembo Jones staffers Clare Colleli, Tina LaLuna and Nancy Guerra took that support to new heights.
Clare, Tina and Nancy rappelled down the 12 floors of the Howard Hughes building in downtown Columbia MD as part of the Over the Edge event to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland – Howard County.
Dembo Jones was a sponsor of Over the Edge, and the trio from the firm raised almost $6,000, including generous contributions from many Dembo Jones staff members.
Special Olympics Maryland – Howard County is the county’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. All proceeds from the Over the Edge event went towards future competitions and sports programming for people with intellectual disabilities.
