Giving Back in Howard County
Howard County is home. Dembo Jones has an office there, it’s where many of our clients are, and where team members have chosen to live and build their lives. At Dembo Jones, we are committed to giving back to our community and supporting the organizations that help our neighbors thrive. Here’s how we’re supporting Howard County this Fall.”
Running for the HCPD:
On Sunday September 8, more than 100 community members took to the streets of Centennial Park in Ellicott City for Police Pace. The one mile, 5k, and 10k race event raised funds to support Howard County Police Department needs not met through the county budget, such as officer scholarships, youth programs, and wellness initiatives. Dembo Jones was proud to return as a sponsor of this annual event. Dembo Jones Director Dane Nettelbladt is treasurer of the Howard County Police Foundation board. Learn more about Police Pace.
Over the Edge for Special Olympics:
Dembo Jones was a sponsor of Over the Edge, the annual event supporting Special Olympics Maryland – the county’s largest organization dedicated to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. On Saturday, September 14, rappellers (including three Dembo Jones team members) descended 12 stories of the tallest building in Howard County. More about Over the Edge and Special Olympics Maryland.
Breakfast for Boy Scouts:
On Friday, November 1, the Howard County Good Scout Award Breakfast will celebrate scouts and community members working to improve life in Howard County while living the values of the Boy Scouts. Dembo Jones is a returning sponsor of this annual event, organized by The Boy Scouts of America Baltimore Area Council. The Council is a not-for-profit serving 14,000 youth Scouters in the greater Baltimore area. Learn more at https://baltimorebsa.org/.
