QuickBooks Desktop Sales Will End July 31 for Non-Subscribers
Intuit’s announcement that it will stop selling certain QuickBooks Desktop products to new U.S. subscribers on July 31, 2024 will impact many current Desktop users, especially those who do not currently have an annual subscription. This means that while existing users without a subscription will still be able to access their Desktop files, they won’t be able to purchase future versions after July 31st.
While existing QuickBooks Desktop subscribers and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise users are not affected, new subscriptions will not be available for the following products:
- QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll
The easiest and best way to avoid disruption and take advantage of all the features you need is to convert to QuickBooks Online. Some of the many benefits of the Online version include:
- Secure cloud access from anywhere with an internet connection
- No more transferring or backing up files, or risk file corruption
- Multiple users can access files and collaborate from different locations and using different devices, including mobile apps
- Online subscriptions are less expensive than renewing QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions
- Integration with third-party apps for invoicing, inventory, banking, and credit cards, etc. is simple
It is also important to note that support will end on May 31, 2024 for those using QuickBooks Desktop 2021. That means the end of:
- QuickBooks services such as payroll or payments
- Access to online banking and bank feeds
- Security updates
